When Foote barked back, Davis dropped his crutches, leaped on Foote, and beat him until onlookers pulled them apart. Davis wanted to settle things with pistols but agreed to dismiss the fracas as a ‘Christmas frolic.'”
Jefferson Davis was obviously inspired by legends of St. Nicholas punching a heretic in the face at the Council of Nicaea. And now, back to Christmastide!
