Turn off, tune out, and drop in

hearth

“If we had a motto, it might be the opposite of the one I heard in the 1960s telling us to ‘turn on, tune in, and drop out’. Our slogan could urge the world to turn off (virtual reality), tune out (advertising and materialism), and drop in (on your neighbors, to let them know it’s time to stop being lonely in America). Drop in – into something more real, more loving, than what you’re currently experiencing.”

i’d go along with that except for the neighbors part… most of ours are loggers and not very friendly…

yes, yes, and yes…except I admit that last part is difficult. Neighbors are very private, although, we have welcomed new neighbors w/ cookies and give cookies during Christmas. We all wave and say hi to each other, but we don’t go further than that. Something I need to work on.
