i tried a wilbur smith once; i tend to agree with the fire thing after the first page…
Only read one of Smith's (ages ago) – I think it was about the Italian's in Libya. Although I was a teenager back then I remember really enjoying it!
Do you think writing teachers might find this work a useful example?
I've never read it myself, but it certainly seems a lesson in taking reviews with a grain of salt!
