WHAT have you finished reading recently? Black Badge #3: Ace in in the Hole, and SHELLI: MurderMind. Reviews for both pending. Actually, I’m writing this in advance so Ace in the Hole may have posted already.
“Killing me won’t solve anything,” [—] said, floating just out
of reach.“I can’t kill what’s already dead,” she replied. “You’re not [———].”
“No, I am so much more.”
“And so much less.” (SHELLI: MurderMind)
WHAT are you reading now? I was reading One of Us, a 700 page biography of Nixon, but then I spilled coffee on it. Zut alors! Here’s the Kindle shelf:

I’m technically halfway through The House Divided, which is more boring than any baseball book involving congresscritters has a right to be. I’ve read Desert Solitaire before, obviously: it was the gateway book into Ed Abbey for me, and the reason I went to New Mexico in 2016.
WHAT are you reading next?
What, is this your first time here?
So! Favorite things to do in summer!
(1 -10) I live in Alabama. We stay inside and pay homage to the air-conditioner. 100+ temps, 100% humidity, twice-daily showers. Summertime is the great sticky siege, and once it’s over it’s hurricane and tornado season.

I don’t think I could bear the summers you’ve described. I live in the northeast of England, where it’s usually mild. Today is 21°C and I think it’s too warm. My body was made for arctic living. I think if I did 23 and Me they’d discover I have penguin DNA.
It’s something else, all right. Hard to believe I used to spend most of the day outside as a kid!
omg that humidity is insane. In wisconsin the weather varies so we all may get a couple unbarely humid days. Though as i gety older it effects my health more it seems.
I wouldn’t mind Wisconsin’s summers, but I don’t think I could take the winters!
Staying indoors in a good idea under those conditions!
LOL…. I so understand what you mean re: Alabama (I’m assuming LA, right?). I live in south Georgia and have a place in the Big Bend area of FL. So, yep…. know the humidity.. .and the gnats. I think they are worse this year than they’ve been in a while!!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Sort of! Lower central Alabama — the Gulf is only a couple of hours away.
So, you could always come north for a visit. My town’s not totally touristy but we do love visitors. People are always organizing cool things for visitors to do in summer. I should’ve gone into town and found more to blog about them.

Which state? I’d be up for MA but it’s wicked expensive to fly there, especially when the Red Sox are playing at Fenway. Pennsylvania’s Gettysburg is a must-see for me.
HahaHa I’d do well there. I hate hot weather. It’s why we moved to New England. Still have a few 80-degree days. Then I hide like you. Nice post.
